Strange. . . Voices on the Phone?

  • Oi.

My sister and her friend were chatting on the phone. Being the nosy little sister, I took up that role and listened-in. After a cut out and a hearing of some sort of credit card meeting, I revealed myself, saying, "what the hell?! Did you hear those voices?"
Later, it happened again, and we could hear the sound of computers and such in the background. An office perhaps?
I'm guessing that our three-way call waves were intercepted by another's. We could hear them, but it was the opposite. They couldn't hear us, no matter how loudly we shouted "hello!" It was a bit fun, but when the male said, "how did you come up with a signature like this?" and the woman started to contradict him, I decided it might've been a place for CREDIT CARD FRAUDS.
Sick of the voices, my sister's friend hung up the phone. Bummer;I was enjoying myself.

My question for you is. . . Have you ever had something similar happen with an intercepted call or joining a wavelength of one? I have to say, it's kind of funny :]]

  • well i was answring the phone an dit was credit card people cause i saw it on my caller id and i picked up and just listened and teh guy was talking to someone else to it was creepy

  • Quite funny but HIGHLY Illegal and prosecutable.

  • actually, something crazy happened this one time. i hung up on someone, and they were on the phone with someone else, and i picked up the phone, i didn't dial anythin, or press any other buttons, and i intercepted her phone call, cutting them off, and causing her to unintitionally hang up.... weeirrrdddd.

  • in telephone exchanges the operators do the same for passing their time but not always and if it is to be recorded that is also possible, now you know that.

  • On the bottoms or side of phones, there is an FCC sticker that says something like "...this device may cause interference...this device must accept interference..." Sometimes, lines and/or signals get crossed. That is why cordless phone are a good choice- they have "freq jumping / security channel scan / etc..." to keep unwanted convos out. This can be a normal occurrence.
