Need advice on buying tickets to Shanghai

  • Hi, I live in Minneapolis and am new to Air Canada's forum.
    I need advice as to where to find a good deal for ticket to Shanghai (PVG) on Air Canada. I know in the U.S. usually travel agenies in China towns have good deals for tickets to China. Is it the same case in Canada? Any one has phone numbers for those agencies selling bargain AC tickets to China?

  • I dont think CND travel agents can sell you a ticket starting from the US. However try Tour East Holidays in Toronto.

    I don't agree, shouldn't be a problem as flight to Shanghai goes over Vancouver.

    Why don't you try first the Air CAnada wbesite in order to get an idea what price you are looking, try maybe also www.flightcentre.com or www.tiss.com, they are good websites for airlines tickets.

  • AC seems to be quite popular in the bucket shop scene right now so you should be able to get something pretty decent. Just for the sake of reference, my colleague just booked JFK-PVG departing next week with stopovers in YVR in both directions and an open return for $685 all in. PM me if you want me to track down his agent.

    Actually you can it less than that, but I guess each agent has their own markup.

    AC fares ORIGINATING from the US to Shanghai will be cheaper than fares originating from CANADA even though flight must transit in Canada! Go figure.
